Gramin Suraksha Bima Policy
The policy is a micro-insurance product provides cover for bodily injury resulting solely and directly from accident caused by outward violent and visible means to the lower income group of the society. This policy has three sections. Section –I covers building and contents, Section –II covers hospitalization expenses of the family. Section –III provides Personal Accident cover to the insured and his/her spouse
Section – I
Building and contents
( Excluding Jewellery and Valuables )
The policy provides indemnity for loss of or damage to the contents/buildings due to
- Fire, Lightning, Explosion of gas in domestic appliances
- Bursting and overflowing of water tanks, apparatus or pipes
- Aircraft or articles dropped therefrom
- Riot, Strike or Malicious Act
- Earthquake (Fire and/or Shock) subsidence and Landslide (including Rockslide) damage
- Flood, Inundation, Strom, Tempest, Typhoon, Hurricane, Tornado or Cyclone
- Impact damage
Section II
Hospitalization Expenses
In the even of insured person contracting any disease or suffering any illness or sustaining any bodily injury through accident requiring hospitalization, the company will pay through TPA to the Hospital/ Nursing Home or insured person the amount of such expenses as would fall under different heads as are reasonably and necessarily incurred thereof by or on behalf of such insured person.

The Gramin suraksha policies can be bought on line using credit, debit cards as well as net banking .
Any adult residing in India can take the policy covering himself / herself between the age of 3 months to 60 years

Extensions/ Add Ons
Maternity Expenses Benefit Extension:
Coverage
The maximum benefit will be up to Rs.1, 000/- for normal delivery and 3500/- for caesarean delivery. These benefits are applicable only if the expenses are incurred in hospital/nursing home as inpatient in India.
Special conditions / exclusion applicable to maternity expenses benefit extension.
- A waiting period of nine months
- Claims in respect of deliveries for only first two children.
- Expenses incurred in connection with voluntary medical termination of pregnancy during the first twelve (12) weeks from the date of conception are not covered.
- Pre-natal and post-natal expenses are not covered unless admitted in hospital/nursing home and treatment is taken there.
Section I
- Burglary and/or housebreaking or theft where any member of the Insured’s family is concerned as principal or accessory.
- Articles of consumable nature.
- Money securities stamps stamp collections bullion livestock motor vehicles and pedal cycles.
- Deeds bonds bills of exchange promissory notes shares and stock certificates business books manuscripts documents of any kind unset precious stones and Jewellery and Valuable.
Section II
- Circumcision unless necessary for treatment or a disease not excluded
- Cost of spectacles, contact lenses and hearing aids.
- Dental treatment unless arising from disease or injury and which requires hospitalization for treatment.
- Convalescence general debility `Run Down’ condition or rest cure, congenital external disease or defects or anomalies, sterility, venereal disease, intentional self-injury and use of intoxicating drugs / alcohol.
- AIDS.
- Diagnostic, X-Ray or laboratory examinations not consistent with or incidental to the diagnosis and treatment of the positive existence of presence of any ailment, sickness or injury for which confinement is required at a Hospital/Nursing Home.
- Vitamins and tonics unless forming part of treatment for injury or disease as certified by the attending physician.
- Pregnancy, childbirth, miscarriage, abortion or complications of any of these including caesarean section.
- Naturopathy treatment
Section III
- Injury or disablement directly or indirectly arising out of or contributed to by or traceable to any disability existing on the date of issue of this Policy.
Intentional self-injury, suicide or attempted suicide, under the influence of intoxicating liquor or drugs, insanity,, any breach of the law with criminal intent.
